Workshops
Viral Wise workshops help people to make sense of the complicated and confusing world of social media. They help participants understand how social media platforms are designed, how they operate and why they have the effects they do.
Youth Workshops (Age 15-25)
Youth workshops explore the individual/personal experience of social media. They encourage young people to reflect on their own digital habits, question what they see online, and understand how platforms shape their behaviour and beliefs.
Youth workshops are built around four core topics:
Business Model:
How do social media companies make money? How does this affect how they operate?
Addictive Design:
What shapes/guides how social media platforms are designed? What are features such as likes, streaks and notifications designed to do?
Algorithms:
What are algorithms? How do they work? How and why do things go viral?
Psychology of Scrolling:
Why is social media addictive? How does it shape our thoughts and beliefs?
Safeguarding & Compliance
Child safety is our top priority. All workshops for under 18s are fully compliant with Irish safeguarding standards:
